Free Trading School · Level 13: Trading Different Markets
Trading crypto
Cryptocurrencies trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on many exchanges around the world. Prices can move 5 to 10% in a day, and much more in smaller coins. The same technical principles apply, but the risks are different.
- Volatility: use smaller positions; a normal day in crypto is a big day in stocks.
- Exchange risk: choose regulated, reputable platforms and understand who holds your coins.
- No closing bell: moves happen overnight and on weekends, so stops are essential.
- Leverage: many crypto platforms offer extreme leverage. Avoid it while learning.
- Scams: fake projects, "guaranteed" yield and impersonators are common.
Never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone. No legitimate exchange or support agent will ask for them.
Treat crypto as a high-volatility market: smaller size, wider stops and extra care about where your funds are held.
